The beginnings of Holy Cross Lutheran Church date back to November 1998. The first services were held in the home of Pastor Earl and Sandy Schafer, in Dallas. In August 1999, Holy Cross leased a storefront in the Cotton Field Plaza, in Hiram, to serve as its first formal worship and meeting space, and the first worship service was held there on October 10, 1999.
