Carnaval Brasileiro in Austin, Texas is now the world's largest INDOOR Brazilian Carnaval celebration with more than 6,000 attendees each year. Held the first Saturday of February, the party is a replication of the old-style carnaval balls held in Rio de Janeiro during the 1950s and early 1960s, a tradition that has largely died out in that city.
