The sole purpose of this foundation is, as its name implies, to design, build and maintain a permanent EMS memorial in Washington DC or its environs. NEMSMF was spearheaded by dedicated EMS providers from Boston, New York, Pittsburgh, Delaware, Cleveland & Detroit. Each of these locations could provide a suitable memorial and would be proud to do so. It was understood by all however, that the prestige of the Nation’s capital make it the most appropriate home for the National Memorial.
