The Durgapur Local Centre was established in 1961at R.E. College Campus (NIT) Durgapur. The First Chairman of this Centre was Sh P. C. Neogi and. Since then the centre is headed by 36 illustrious and distinguished engineers of the state both from Govt. and Private Sectors. Durgapur Local Centre shifted at very prime location in its own building in SAIL, DSP Land in 1984(Nehru Avenue, B-Zone, Durgapur-713 205) and witnessed organization of many technical events, seminar and national conventions.
